DAY ONE - BRISBANE TO 1770
Hey guys,Danny and Hayley here. So began day one of our trip from Brisbane to Hakuba JAPAN. Bright and early we picked up our reloction campervan. We started well and only about 3 hours late.First stop, Sunshine Coast to where we dropped off a body p... more »illow to a pregnant friend who complains her partner isn't squishy enough. GOOD DEED OF THE DAY - done early. To truly start off with the spirit of a travelling Aussie, we stopped off at Etamogah Pub/Aussie world to destroy a Beefy's Stockman's Pie. MMM BEEFY'S! We danced our way over the many speed bumps out of the carparks and back on track. With a open road ahead and the breadbaskets filled we headed north. Passing Tin Can Bay and crossed Bottle Creek (both of which are quite empty of rubbish considering their names) we set our next sights towards Bundeberg to take a tour of the Rum Distillery. To those who don't know, Bundeberg Rum is a well loved aussie beverage and a local hero to the Bundy Bogan's of that area. Much to our dismay when we arrived there were only a couple Bundy Bogans to wave to and the the distillery was finished for the day. So we had a quick tour of the souvenir shop and headed towards Gladston. We didn't make it to Gladston as we got distracted by the idea of beautiful 1770 and on the way managed to wave at two fellow hippie campers heading south. Of course both groups waved back with big grins. We arrived in 1770 in time to watch the sun set from the lookout. A beautiful bay discovered by captain Cook in 1770, eighteen years before the first fleet. He was recognised by the aborigines as a smart man who safely guided the canoe into the bay. The second driver wasn't so smart and was attacked by ants and itchy grubs. They all laughed and had a jolly good time - I assume. At the time they managed to shoot and eat a small turkey, maybe a big one (not too sure really, but a turkey all the same) which they named a 'busted'. Captain Cook said it was his best meal he'd had for ages. We recommend Red Rooster. We also managed to score 3 free sausage rolls off the lady behind the desk. We saved them from the bin and decided to sit on the beach. That was shortlived due to the mozzies so we headed back to our camper for the night.Day one Completed539km Travelled2 Fellow Driving Hippie Campers Spotted3 Free Sausage Rolls Claime

Camper Van hire for Music Festivals
Music festivals are very popular in Australia and offer music lovers the chance to see some of their favourite acts (and discover some new music talent) in their own backyard. Well, not quite in their own backyard (not so good for the neighbours) but close enough. Music festivals range from small folk festivals through to pumping dance marathons in both country and city areas.
