Come and experience Grand Pacific Drive - Sydney to Wollongong and beyond.
Grand Pacific Drive is a 140km award winning coastal drive beginning at the Royal National Park which is the second oldest National Park in the world. Enjoy driving through coastal rainforests and villages and traverse along the magnificent Sea Cliff Bridge.
From here, Grand Pacific Drive makes its way into the bustling city of Wollongong, offering countless adventure activities like Skydiving, great beaches and shopping, fantastic local restaurants and cafes, a local brewery, a Buddhist temple, art galleries and more. Wollongong is also a great place to stay with a huge mix of options from international hotel brands to quaint and unique B&B´s to backpacker accommodation - Wollongong has something to offer any traveller.
The drive then takes you through to the beautiful coastal towns of Shellharbour and Kiama and ends in the spectacular Shoalhaven region. From here, experience Grand Pacific Drive´s "beyond", to the Southern Highlands, greater South Coast and then on to Canberra. Grand Pacific Drive is also a great "appetiser" to the Sydney to Melbourne coastal drive.

Billabong Sanctuary
Billabong Sanctuary, located just 20 minutes drive south of Townsville is a wildlife park featuring over 100 species of Australian animals, specialising in the fauna of North Queensland such as the estuarine or saltwater crocodile and the endangered cassowary.
The wildlife park is set in 25 acres of natural bush land. There are three representative habitats - rainforest, eucalypt woodland and wetlands all set around a billabong which is teeming with North Queensland waterfowl offering great photographic opportunities. Many of the animals and birds are free-ranging, while captive animals are displayed in enclosures that replicate the animal´s habitat in the wild and subtly blend into the landscape.
Billabong Sanctuary is Australia´s best interactive wildlife experience. Animal encounters is a series of unforgettable, hands-on adventures. Experience the sight, sense and feel of Billabong Sanctuary´s native animals: some cute and cuddly, some slippery and fascinating. Hold a koala, hug a wombat, hold a crocodile or wrap a python around your shoulders.
The Sanctuary´s main focus is the conservation and preservation of native species. To this end, Billabong Sanctuary places emphasis on education at all levels and ages. At the daily wildlife talks and feeding shows presented by our wildlife rangers, you learn all about the ecology, the habitats and unusual characteristics of Australia´s unique animals.

Capricorn Caves, 30 Olsen´s Caves Rd, The Caves 4702, 23kms N of Rockhampton, Ph 07 4934 2883. These amazing tropical limestone offer a beauty different to that of deep underground caves. Daily tours are conducted by experienced guides through large well lit caverns with beautiful decorations, rare ferns and massive tree roots and occasionally small bats. The huge domed Cathedral Cave is renowned for its acoustics and is a popular wedding venue. A fun option at the end of the tour is a candlelit walk through the pioneer passage on to a swinging suspended bridge in the rainforest. A trip to Cairns and the tropical north of Queensland is not complete without a visit to the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef.
Sunlover Reef Cruises departs at 10.00am 365 days a year from the Reef Fleet Terminal on Spence Street, Cairns so you can enjoy a sleep in or a leisure breakfast before your day.
Passengers travel on-board an air-conditioned catamaran 1½ hours out to the pontoon on Moore Reef. Once at the reef you have over 4 hours to explore. You can choose to do as much or as little as you like. Your ticket price includes seafood buffet lunch, free snorkelling equipment and as many glass boat and semi-submersible tours as you´d like.
Optional Seawalker Platform Helmet dives, introductory dives and certified dives are also available onboard. If you haven’t seen the reef from above, a 10minute scenic flight is well worth the splurge - so much better than it looks in the photographs! For lovers of learning you can also take a guided educational snorkel tour.
If that all sounds too active then enjoy the seafood buffet lunch, find a spot on the pontoon or the catamaran deck, stretch out your towel, grab your book and relax.
